II. Who does this policy affect?

Students of the College who participate in internships

III. Purpose

The Board of Trustees recognizes the value of providing students with experiences as part of their preparation for productive employment and appreciates the cooperation of local employers in accommodating such training activities at their places of business.

IV. Policy Statement

Board policy authorizes the President or designee to develop work-site training programs as part of the College's cooperative education and internship programs. The President or designee shall develop administrative guidelines to ensure all such programs comply with the requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
