I. Policy Title: Medical Examinations

II. Who Does This Policy Affect:

Students of Henry Ford College

III. Purpose:

This policy defines the situations in which a medical examination may be required for a Henry Ford College student for admission or enrollment in particular academic programs.

IV. Policy Statement:

Medical examinations are required for Henry Ford College students in health careers and nursing academic programs.

The President or his/her designee shall develop procedures for required medical examinations and ensure the requirements published in the applicable student course catalog are followed.

The College will comply with all applicable privacy laws, such as HIPAA.

V. Definitions:

Medical Examination: An examination performed by a professional health care provider that may be required for students for admission or enrollment in particular academic programs, such as any health career programs. The examination usually includes a physical examination, drug screening and blood work.

VP of Academic Affairs
VP of Student Affairs
Dean of Nursing
Program directors of the School of Health and Human Services.
