The MACRAO* Transfer Agreement "provides for transferability of up to 30 semester credits to meet many (in some cases all) of the General Education Requirements at participating Michigan four-year colleges and universities, when a student completes the MACRAO Common Core of 30 semester credits of 100-level and above general education courses." To qualify for the MACRAO Transfer Agreement transcript endorsement at Henry Ford College, a minimum of 40% of the coursework (12 credit hours) must be completed by the student at Henry Ford College.

The MACRAO Common Core of general education courses are as follows:

  1. English Composition 131 and 132 (6 semester hours).

Courses in the following areas must be taken in more than one academic discipline:

  1. Natural Science and Math (8 semester hours).

At least one of the natural sciences must be a laboratory course. Mathematics is included in the natural science category.

  1. Social Science (8 semester hours).

  2. Humanities (8 semester hours).

English composition cannot be used as a part of the humanities requirements.

A student who wishes to have the MACRAO designation on his/her academic transcript should complete a MACRAO application form in the Office of the Registrar at the time a request for transcript is made. After the appropriate certification has been approved, the MACRAO endorsement will be placed on the applicant's transcript and mailed. A list of approved courses which satisfy the MACRAO Agreement can be obtained in the Office of the Registrar.
