The Board of Trustees recognizes the need to establish positions which, when filled by competent, qualified professional staff members, will assist the College in achieving the educational goals set by the Board. In accordance with the Federal Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 as amended, the College employs only U.S. citizens and others lawfully authorized to work in the United States.
The President or designee shall verify all new full-time and part-time employees' and substitutes' right to work in the United States according to the Federal Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 as amended.
The Board reserves the right to eliminate positions or to create new positions and set the number of hours, length of contract year, and the initial salary for a new position not currently covered by a valid collective bargaining agreement.
The Board shall, upon the advise of the President, consider the advisability of eliminating a position, creating a new position or of increasing the number of professional staff members in an existing position.
In the exercise of its authority to create new positions, the Board shall give primary consideration to:
the needs of students; and
the operating needs of the College.
