I. Policy Title: Use of College Facilities
II. Who does this policy affect?
HFC Community and outside community members
III. Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to provide an efficient means of controlling the use of College equipment.
IV. Policy Statement
The Board of Trustees believes that the facilities of this College should be made available for community purposes, pursuant to a license agreement or permit, provided that such use does not infringe on the original and necessary purpose of the property or interfere with the educational program of the College.
Buildings and sites may be made available to the public as is consistent with statues, policies of the Board, and the primary purposes of the schools.
Should all or any part of the College community be struck by a disaster, the Board shall make College grounds and/or facilities available, at no charge, for the housing, feeding, and care of victims or potential victims when requested by local, state, and federal authorities.
The President or designee shall develop administrative guidelines for the granting of permission to use College facilities including a schedule of fees.
No liability shall attach to this College, any employee, officer, or member of the College specifically as a consequence of permitting access to these facilities.
V. Definitions
College Facilities: all Henry Ford College buildings, grounds, other spaces and structures, including but not limited to student service buildings, academic buildings, libraries, administrative buildings, recreational and athletic facilities.
